Get excited!

My Melbourne and Sydney trip in July is finally finalised. Eek, I can’t wait! Can’t wait to go back to one of my favourite cities, Melbourne. Alongside me will be J as I show him around Melbourne and experience Sydney together, as his birthday gift (which is in over a week’s time). Yay! Not to mention that I’ve managed to spend my whole pay check, which I got TODAY… And a bit more. *sigh* Bye bye, hard earned money.

Speaking of which, after having a horrible shift at work last week, I managed to have two nice shifts this week, of which the streak just had to be ruined today. Absolutely crazy. Doesn’t help that it was a public holiday today, so it was quiet as, and only the nursing staff were on… ugh. I generally enjoy afternoon shifts so hopefully I’ll have a better shift tomorrow… Which I can sleep in tomorrow, yay!

My parents (and sis and BIL) have been away on their China trip since Friday, so I’ve had the house to myself. Must admit it’s kinda nice having the house to myself but I hate coming home to emptiness. Never felt more lonely. On the other hand, it makes me want to move out more. They’re back in 4 days so I better enjoy this while I can! Get excited!

Day 2: Chinatown

We went to Chinatown for the morning to have cheap Hawkers breakfast at People’s Park. Sooooo cheap. And sooo delicious. We managed to find the two temples around Chinatown, which were a short walk away from the main area. It was a hot day but the temples were extraordinary.

Day 1.

We landed at 5:30am, got out of the airport roughly after 6am. We went to our hotel to drop our bags, then left to go to Mustafa to exchange our money (man, that place was huge!), and have breakfast around the area.

We went back to the hotel to have a rest, and checked in early as our room was finally ready. We had a few hours to nap as J did not get any sleep at all on the flight. We then headed down to Orchard to grab some Starbucks, and check out Orchard Rd. Then we had dinner at Food Republic at 313@Somerset, and shopped for a bit. Then we grabbed some dessert at Haagen-dazs :)

Went back to the hotel as we had a big week ahead of us! :)

10 days was not enough!

We touched down back to Perth late last night after an awesome 10 days in Singapore. We shopped like crazy, ate until we couldn’t eat anymore, and walked more than we ever walked before. But it was totally worth it and I miss it already.

I’m going to update my day-to-day in Singapore and hopefully make it short but sweet.

I have one and a half weeks left of my holiday before I start full-time work. Sad face.

On the way to the airport, heading home. :( See you soon, Perth. #singapore #holiday #sad #whysosoon #airport #charlesandkeith #ipad2 #jayjays #americanapparel #dontwannagohome #whensthenextholiday (Taken with instagram)

How has six days gone by!?! We’ve got four days left in Singapore. I’m going to miss everything about it! Although I am SO sore, and it didn’t help that we did a obstacle rope course, metres above the ground, yesterday… If you didnt know, I’m not a very strong person… I can’t even do push ups!

We’re heading to Bugis right now to do some more shopping. We went into h&m yesterday which I fell in love with, so I’m planning to go on a spree there. J fancied some of the menswear there too (yay!!!) so he’s planning on spending lots there as well. I didn’t realise how cheap h&m was in Singapore. Sooo good!!! I found a sequin skirt, black hippy pants and a statement necklace but I’m going to go around the multilevel store multiple times to have a closer look at everything. I haven’t even stepped foot into the multilevel forever 21 yet… Yikes!

I hope the next four days goes by SLOWER!

Part of my purchases today yay! :) #forever21 #zara #singapore #shopping #holiday (Taken with instagram)

Day 1 in Singapore so far:

Despite being told our flight was 35 minutes delayed, we were expecting to wait a while. All of the sudden, it was last call for boarding. We could’ve missed our flight in minutes. It was the fastest I’ve ever had to board. Literally took 5 minutes, and the plane was full. *confused* why the hurry? We were early anyway.

After a rocky flight, nil sleep on the plane, and watching the lightning show outside the plane, we finally in Singapore 30 minutes early. We made our way to our bags, and then got sim cards for our phones. Finally it was time to leave!

We got to our hotel in no time (roughly 6am). We registered our arrival and was told to check in at 12pm… Le sigh. J was starving, so we made our way to the MRT station right opposite our hotel (woohoo!) and I showed J how to work the ticket machine. We decided to go to Mustafa to get our money exchanged, and check out the centre, which is crazy by the way, and can literally find anything there.

We tried to find a place that was open to have breakfast, so we saw this place that was pretty full with locals, so it was bound to be good. We ended up having seafood noodle soup, and milo, for breakfast (yes, J being allergic to seafood, managed to eat the fish balls and whatnot without getting an allergic reaction! Hooray!). Total meal price? S$4.40. Win!

It began bucketing down with rain… What! So we decided to get J an MRT card, then head back to the hotel to rest. Now, currently, we have 2.5 hours to kill. Ugh. I hope the rest of the trip won’t be as rainy! :(

I cant believe tonight’s the night! Where has time gone since November!?! I’m impatiently waiting for the time to come. I’m sooo ready for this holiday to begin, after months and months of singularly planning this trip.

I have to think of something to busy myself with for the next 10 hours.

I just had my last shift at work. I feel so bad for leaving because now they need people, now that it’s back to uni next week. :x I’ll miss the discounts, I’ll miss being a casual… now onto full-time work being a registered nurse, earning a kajillion times more than being a casual. Sigh! Anyway. My manager got me flowers, so sweet! I love how flowers can make the whole room smell so nice. :) I used the rest of my staff discount on a beanie and a winter woolly cardigan for my niece. Sooo adorable!

Two more days until my flight! YAYYYY! I need to finish packing most things tonight, and print out shopping lists. Teehee.

Shirt dress: Cotton On / Shorts: ASOS / Necklace: Sportsgirl / Sandals: (forgot and can’t read the name!) / Bag: Charles & Keith

I had the most amazing time in Melbourne over the weekend. I came back last night to disgusting hot weather. Bah. I forgot how hot Perth was.

We ate till we couldn’t eat anymore, we walked until I sprained my ankle, we shopped till we dropped, we gambled until we were tired. Sooooo good.

Wasn’t expecting to cook dinner tonight since my foot is still sore and i don’t really want to cook after having all that delicious food in Melbourne, but there’s nothing much in the fridge so looks like I’ll be cooking. Going to make a nice potato salad - so perfect for summer. I’m hoping I’ll be okay to drive later. I’ll be going to watch J’s weekly touch rugby game and tonight he’s going to play after having multiple injuries which have prevented him from playing in our mixed team and the men’s team this season.

It’s good to be back but I wish I wasn’t, haha. I’m so ready to leave again in 25 days for Singapore!

Shorts: Zimmermann / top: Cotton On / Bag: Charles & Keith (not shown)

This crazy hot weather for the past week has given me a headache. I could so go for a nap right now and wake up when I fly out. I’m flying out the Melbourne early in the morning with my two best friends for the weekend. Woohoo! I’m so ready to get out of the stinking hot Perth weather. I haven’t exactly finished packing, though. Ummm.

See you on the flip side!

Another working week starts tomorrow. Sigh. Which means I have work tomorrow. Which also means I should probably start getting ready for bed now considering that I slept at 5am last night… or make that, this morning. I’m really hoping that this week goes by so quickly, as I am soooo ready for a holiday right now.

A few days ago, I couldn’t believe how many notes I received for one of my photos. Now it just hit the 1000 mark tonight. I never expected the photo to get so many notes! Not saying it’s a bad thing, hope it continues. :)

Anyways, I hope everyone has a great Chinese New Year! :) Another working week starts tomorrow. Sigh. Which means I have work tomorrow. Packing for Melbourne is going to be a lot harder than I thought….

6 days to go!
